Rubbish company – stay away – useless support and they deleted my web site “by accident”!!

Over the years I’ve hosted various websites at Hostgator and never had a bad word to say (except that their support isn’t the best).

However, after a short hatius from being a Webmaster I recently returned to Hostgator only to see a major price increase over all their products. In my opinion the pricing is no longer justified for the services they offer, so I’ve switched to another webhost.

The golden age of web hosting seems to now be in the past. None of the major hosts offer a good monthly term (If a host advertises, for example a $7.99/month plan you have to go with a 2 year term to achieve this. If you want to pay per month and not be tied down you’d then be paying, for example, $12.99/month).

Another thing is that they seem to have various blackhat/spam sites on the same server/ip as yours (if you’re on a shared plan) and this deals a major blow Search Engine rankings as you know.

To sum up: Unjustified pricing, Spam content, and poor (but not the worst) support. I’ve very dissapointed as this is not the Hostgator I used to deal with, however I’ll just switch to another webhost and not lose any sleep over it haha.

I think that HostGator is the best web hosting out there. I use HostGator for about three months, and until now I have 100% uptime. I use a shared hosting plan, with bandwidth, disk space and MySQL databases unlimited. I needed to use support only once, and they solved my problem in just 20 minutes after the opening of the ticket, I have never seen that before. I recommend HostGator to all. It’s the most professional and cheapest web hosting provider.

HostGator has very good customer support. Every time I’m asking them for help they are very professional, helpful and kind. Also, the price is good.
